Matchday 1 review

Changing my defence just to squeeze Depay in really hurt me because I took out Dumfries who scored, replaced him with Wijndal who didn’t start but came on and got booked for 0 points, took out Meunier who got 1 goal 1 assist and a clean sheet, replaced him with Denayer who didn’t play, and Depay got me 2 points! What a bad decision by me. I switched captain from Insigne to Ronaldo which paid off in the end with his 2 late goals but I was worried for a while watching the game!

I find myself with a defence to sort out now. I also was not impressed with Spain and don’t see many goals for them so Torres may go. Alaba got an assist for me but was playing CB so that’s not ideal! Unfortunately I also have Eriksen to take out; what happened in that game was horrifying to witness and I am so glad he is doing well in hospital now. Football really came together and showed the world it is more than just a sport.

Matchday 2 Limitless Chip Team

Here’s the transfers I’ve made:

I will be using the Limitless Chip this week and I think I want to try and hold wildcard for the quarter finals so limitless chip is in use. I have done the following:

I have attacked the France fixture with Hungary blowing the budget for Mbappe who will be my final captain, and Kimpembe to cover the highly likely clean sheet. I’ve gone heavy in defence bringing in Meunier and Stones. Ukraine face North Macedonia so I have gone for Yarmolenko who has a good international record and the goalkeeper who may keep a clean sheet.

I’ve gambled on Calvin Phillips holding his place for England because he played really well and my budget was tight with Mbappe so he’s just a punt at the price. I then switched my budget bench players around bringing in Toivio who played the last game for Finland at 4mil, and Holes who came on for 23 minutes. Neither should be needed but they are needed just in case.

Captain plan:

I will start with Insigne again finish with Mbappe. If Insigne scores in the first game I don’t think I will go through different captain each day, but if he blanks I will switch to Lukaku before finally switching to Mbappe.
