Here I’ve taken the best fixtures in the Group stage schedule which consists of ranking the bookies “odds to win” for the first 3 match days and then picked out forwards from the top 18 teams of that schedule.
I’ve tried to get players with reasonable gametime security and reasonable attacking stats. I’ve taken into account some predicted lineups and their presence in the friendlies as I write this. I’ve tried to focus on the players who are the main attacking threat for their team
The fixture schedule
This shows the “to win odds” for each team for £1 invested. Those under £2.00 I’ve highlighted in green.
This is the order that I have put the players in the further schedule below
The Forwards schedule
The Forwards are ranked by the fixture ranking above. The International stats are career and the club stats are for 20/21. Appearances include sub appearances and G/A PM is how many minutes for a goal or assist. The lower the better obviously. There’s also the Anytime goalscorer odds for MD1.
You can access the schedule here and make a copy for your own use
A Few Comments
You can see that Harry Kane and Lukaku have the best International records but their first games aren’t against the supposed worst sides in the competition which are probably Hungary, Finland and North Macedonia, Those sides play Portugal, Denmark and Austria respectively which is why Ronaldo and Austria striker Kalajdzic have such good anytime goalscoring odds
Petkovic of Croatia is the cheapest player in the schedule but his record is pretty ordinary even in the Croatian League and there aren’t any easy games in the Group.
Lewandoski is the only other player apart from Ronaldo with odds under £2.00 to score. His record for Bayern is beyond incredible but for Poland it’s just good and half the players on the schedule have a better minutes per goal or assist record. Slovakia are probably in the 2nd tier of worst teams and you can see from the schedule above that Poland are big favourites to win that game.
