Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 4 seasons overall ranks are 17k, 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW17 points: 86 (FPL average 56) Total points 1,040, Overall Rank: 135k, green arrow  141k Team Value: £102.5m

Here’s the points:

So one of those rare rank halving gameweeks that you hope come along a few times a season as I move to 135k overall rank.  I’m now 25 points off my target of 50k overall rank.

Transfer thoughts

2 free transfers and £0.2m in the bank

If you read my early FFGeek Team thoughts article you’d know I was planning to use the 2 free transfers and not the Free Hit to navigate the 6 fixture only blank GW18.  Unfortunately the fixture amendment  bringing Spurs v Fulham in instead of Aston Villa v Spurs cost me 2 players who would have a fixture in Grealish and Martinez

With the 2 free transfers available I would have 8 players but that would include Taylor who is “touch and go” to be fit  and Brewster who could play or not given the random way that Wilder selects his strikers.

So inevitably I decided to use my free hit rather than risk only having 6 players play

The Free Hit Team

Time is against me so minimal discussion but here it is:

I wanted Lacazette in rather than Wood but could just not fit him in.  I also wanted Mahrez or Foden but both played 2 games against Man Utd and Birmingham in the cups but could just not fit him in.  Wood has at least given me a strong bench if there are any postponements or shock non starters.

I went with the FFGeek Captain Poll which had De Bruyne as Captain favourite.  I feel like I’m exposed enough to the Spurs attack to make Kane my captain and if anything under exposed to the Man City attack.

Lineup issues

The only decision to make was Holding vs Wood and the bookies firmly favour the Arsenal clean sheet so I’ve gone for Holding.  It also avoids a conflict of teams vs each other.

Good luck to everyone.

If I make any changes I’ll update this article or at least tweet the change
