This is part 4 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change. Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed
Rick’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW23 was a good week mildly marred by leaving a fair number of points on the bench, but so did a lot managers. It felt inevitable. We’re enjoying a time where cheap mids like Soucek, Foden and Gundogan are more than matching the unbenchable premium options. On top of that, we’ve had Antonio, Watkins, DCL and Bamford playing star striker roles while the usual big hitters are either underperforming or injured. Frankly, it’s been almost impossible to avoid quality spilling onto the bench unless you’ve deliberately avoiding these players to make benching choices easier.
Like most, my exact plans are a mystery even to myself until I know the full extent of the doubles and blanks in GW26 and GW29. I’d prefer to avoid Wildcarding in GW25 if I can but that’s only an option if I land there with decent number of double players and a boostable bench ready for DGW26. With the sparse BGW29 almost certainly demanding I transfer in players I’d not normally own, I’d prefer to dead end my team into that week before Wildcarding into something stronger for the last stretch. With no Wildcard I’ll be stuck with those players until I have the spare FTs to get rid of them.
I have 2 FTs available and my first is Chilwell to Mee. I want Burnley defensive cover for the double and Chilwell can’t be trusted to start now that he’s sharing with Alonso.
As there’s a decent chance I’ll end up Wildcarding next week despite my efforts, I should probably use my second transfer to address an injury or bring in another doubler. However, I’m hoping both Antonio and Dias will play so, despite the flags, I’ll likely roll my other transfer to give me the best chance of keeping my Wildcard even though it may get wasted.
On a standard week it would be Bruno all day, but it’s hard to look past a City asset considering the double. Gundogan is the obvious pick. Bruno vice.

Yet to finalise plans, but my current intention is to move Mitchell to Ben Mee; this will leave me with enough in the bank to bring Kane in the following week, even if I choose not to wildcard.
Captain will probably be Gundogan. Could backfire, but two home games and the form he’s in make it appealing.

Scott finished with an overall rank of 15k last season, 1k 18/19 and 12k in 17/18

A terrible week for me last week. Chose the wrong keeper (played Pope over Martinez although Pope was unlucky to concede), Soucek over DCL and Antonio over Bruno for the captain. That’s a 22 point swing! Oh well, 50/50 calls always have a reasonable chance of going wrong. The main thing that annoyed me about it is that I would usually play a starting striker over any other player so it’s losing the DCL points that bothers me the most.
This week, I had hoped to have 6 double game week players but injuries to DCL and Taylor will mean I’ll have 5 maximum. DCL will be on my bench as Ancelloti has confirmed he won’t play against Fulham and his second fixture is Man City. I’ll leave Taylor in as Dyche said he might play this weekend and both games are good so it wouldn’t be disastrous if he only played 1 of them.
My transfer will likely be Dallas in for Robertson ready for Leeds’ double game week next week. My plan is then to bring Kane in next week for Antonio leaving me 2 transfers for double game week 26. That means I’ll hopefully have 13 doublers for GW26 plus Bamford and Coufal. My plan is to bench boost. I’ll then have 3 transfers before blank game week 29 giving me 10 players for that (assuming Villa v Spurs moves to GW29). I’ll then wildcard GW30 or so depending on the fixture announcements. That will leave me with just my triple captain chip to play. I’ve not really thought about when I’ll play that yet (GW26 on Kane is an option but I think the bench boost is better for my team). I’ll wait for the fixtures to be confirmed and decide from there.
Captain’s armband is on Fernandes at the moment. Gundogan is the other option but I’m nervous about Pep roulette.
Enjoy the game week.
