fantasy premier league transfer tips GW25 – top managers  | fpl.wiki

Here’s our fantasy premier league transfer tips GW25 article  where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

Introduction

The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available.

The 10 managers stats

I’ve given the identities and FPL IDs of the 10 FPL managers in the FFGeek Patreon site

It includes our very own Yaniv Salomon who you can follow on twitter here

These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.

1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,860

2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)

3. 7 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons

4. 1 of the 10 have finished in the top 100 in the last 3 seasons

Their basic stats after GW24 Sunday

There were 8 green arrows and 2 red arrows

The average points score in GW24 after Sunday was 78 net of point deductions for extra transfers. With it being a DGW and games on Monday and Wednesday there’s alot more to come

The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers was 75k.

The median overall rank was 17k

The average total points are 1,570.

The average team value was £106.1m.

The combined total of individual players

I’ve generally only included where there is a minimum of a player in 3 out of the 10 FPL managers teams

Goalkeeper/Defence by player

Martinez is in 9 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Cancelo is in 8 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Dallas is in 7 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Coufal, Mee and Dias are in 6 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Pope is in 5 of the 10 managers teams

Digne is in 3 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Goalkeeper/Defence by team

I have stripped out non playing GKs

Man City are represented 16 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Burnley is represented 13 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Villa are represented 9 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

West Ham are represented 8 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Leeds are represented 7 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Everton are represented 3 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Midfielders

Salah and Fernandes are in 10 of the FPL managers teams

Gundogan is in 9 of the 10 managers teams

Son is in 7 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Grealish is in 4 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Soucek and Sterling are in 2 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Forwards

Bamford is in 9 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Antonio is in 8 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Calvert Lewin is in 5 of the FPL managers teams

Watkins is in 4 of the 10 FPL managers teams

GW24 Captain Choice

7 managers captained Gundogan

3 managers captained Sterling

The FFGeek Captain Poll showed Gundogan at 54% , Sterling at 20%, and Fernandes at 8%

Formations

4 managers played 3-5-2

4 managers played 4-4-2

2 managers played 3-4-3

Transfers

1 managers carried over a free transfer

2 managers took a 4 point hit

transfers in

Mee, Sterling, Lowton and Cavani  were transferred in 2 times

no other player was transferred in more than once

transfers out

Calvert Lewin, Justin and Rashford were transferred out 2 times

No other player was transferred out more than once

Wildcards and Chips

1 manager has used his 2nd wildcard

4 have now used their triple captain chip

4 managers have used their bench boost including 1 manager who used it this week

Here’s his bench boost so far

109 points incredibly.  He’s now in the top 500.  His last 4 seasons are 8k, 4k and 6k.  His TV is £105.7m

The top 10k overall rank vs the 10 FPL managers

Here’s a comparison between the top 10k overall rank ownership % and the 10 top FPL managers.  The differences in the 3rd column are narrowing

The template

I use the 10 managers as a proxy for serious managers teams and have a basic rule of thumb that if 7 of the 10 managers have a player or a team defence then I will seriously consider getting that player .

Here’s the template on that basis. The difficulty with tracking the template is that you’re 1 game behind it as you obviously can’t see what their transfers are leading up to the gameweek opening.

Villa defence – Martinez

Leeds defence – Dallas

Man City defence – Dias and/or Cancelo

West Ham defence – Coufal

Burnley defence – Pope or Mee

Salah

Fernandes

Son

Gundogan

Bamford

Antonio

Incredibly that’s 11 players. A full 11 player template team with only Coufal, Mee and Dallas rotating in the starting 11 on fixtures

One managers team

Here’s the manager with the highest score (excluding the Bench Boost team) of 82 this week.  It’s FFGeek Contributor Yaniv Salomon .  His last 3 seasons are 3k, 4k and 8k.  His TV is £106.8m

fantasy premier league transfer tips GW25

This managers current overall rank is 20k and total points of 1,482.  His TV is £105.7m.  He has used his free Hit and Bench Boost

His last 3 seasons are 2k, 7k and top 500.  He has 9 of the 12 template players.  His template replacement player for Coufal is Justin, his template replacement player for Bamford is Watkins and lastly Rashford for Son.

The combined 10 top FPL managers teams

Here’s a team which tries to make a combination from the most represented players. Please note that it is meant to be a menu of players to help you choose your transfer rather than a realistic team and it’s value is not necessarily achievable.  This week it is achievable by very few I would suggest at £107.6m
